Humble Authority: Leadership Visible in Its Bounds
Leadership is service, not status — and the bounds of a role are part of the witness.

Humble authority is one of TDI’s core values because unaccountable charisma is a well-documented way to harm the people a mission claims to love.
Authority is not the problem. Hidden authority is. A board that cannot say no, a founder who cannot be reviewed, an advisory circle that is treated as a governing body — these arrangements eventually place weight on the wrong backs.
TDI’s public posture is simple: the governing board carries fiduciary responsibility for the institution. Program leaders carry field responsibility for a mission lane. Advisors bring expertise and trust without replacing either. Founders are named in the story without becoming the product.
Bounds are not a lack of courage. They are how people know where to take a concern, a gift, or a grievance. They are also how a Christian institution remains credible to neighbors who do not share its confession but can recognize integrity when they see it.
We pursue that standard — not perfection that performs, but humility that holds.
